End the Stigma: The Truth About Food Addiction
Let me begin by reiterating that this is a safe space.
This blog, my Facebook page, my Tik Tok – they’re all the same. We will not tolerate negativity or judgement towards others. We are here to build each other up. Cheer each other on. Support each other when we’re struggling.
We are all inclusive here. It doesn’t matter your age. It doesn’t matter your gender, or your race. It doesn’t matter if you weigh 600 lbs, or if you weigh 140 lbs.
We don’t care if you’ve elected to get weight loss surgery, or if you’ve already had it.
Taking medications to help with weight loss? Ozempic or Wegovy anyone? Welcome.
“They’re taking the easy way out.” “That’s cheating.” “It won’t last.” “You will just gain all the weight back when you stop it.”
ENOUGH with the toxicity already! (yes, I’m talking to you negative nellies)
Food addiction is hard. Finding recovery is hard. Staying in recovery – also hard. So why bring each other down when we should be building each other up?
The point is, as you can see, that the only thing that’s important is that we are all on a journey, we all have a goal (whether we’ve started working towards that goal or not,) and we all need a little support here and there.
We are all here in hopes of building a better life. Creating a healthier future. Overcoming obstacles that stand in our way. If you are here, even if you haven’t yet begun taking any of the steps required, but you’re reading these posts and you’re questioning in your head how you can help yourself – that is the first step!
What’s the alternative? You could be doing nothing (but you’re not.)
So instead of judging each other, instead of questioning what works for someone else that you may not agree with or may not work for you, let’s celebrate the fact that we made it. We made it this far in life and we’re ready to take those next steps so that we can make it long into the future.
Let’s not worry about what the future will bring. Don’t focus on if you will fail or succeed. Let’s not worry about what’s happened in the past that has led you to this point. Let’s not dwell on our moments of weakness. Live for today. Worry about getting through today, and whatever happens tomorrow will be tomorrow’s problem.
It may seem like a long climb up a mountain right now, but with a little support (or a lot), we can conquer this journey together.

Congratulations! If reading this blog is your first step at figuring out how to change your life, you’ve done it!
